Have you ever seen something and you were so intrigued that you had to order the item? Well, that’s what happened to me with the tarte
Rainforest of the Sea Make A Splash Hydrating Skin Savers set. Whew! That’s a lot to say!
I was scrolling through the new arrivals section on Sephora one day and I noticed the set. What really caught my attention was the price of the set, so I couldn’t resist placing an order. I knew based on the $10 price that the items were going to be small, but I figured it would be worth a try. Plus, I know how sensitive my skin is and I would rather spend $10 than the $89 for the full-size items.
Based on the reviews, I knew it would last at least a week. Surprisingly, this little set lasted longer than a month with daily use. I’m super serious. I learned after the first use that a little goes a long way. If you are using any type of brush cleanser or a Foreo, the cleanser will last for weeks. All you have to do is apply a peas sized amount to your Foreo and that is more than enough to clean your face and neck.
I really didn’t use the mist as much but it did stand up to the Virginia heat. Turns out, this is the perfect little to set to travel with and tuck in your beauty bag.
Having tried the travel sized set, I would buy the moisturizer and cleanser again. All of the items in the line do have a scent, but I didn’t have any issues with my sensitive skin. Both the tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel and H2O Hydrating Boost are perfect for summer on all skin types.
However, I think if you have dry skin, this might not be the skin care set for you during the winter. The moisturizer is absolutely perfect to use before applying makeup during the summer. It’s an oil-free gel moisturizer that definitely allows your skin to breath and doesn’t leave your skin feeling heavy or weighed down. However, I’m not sure that it can withstand cold winter months. You know that I’m definitely going to test it out for sure.
Overall, it was a great set to try out the new line. While the exact set that I purchased is out of stock, Sephora does have two other similar sets.
One is the tarte Radiance Ritual Travel Set ($32) that contains the cleanser and mist along with a Lip Splash Lipstick, Maracuja Oil, and a highlighter in Exposed.
The second set is the tarte Ready, Set, Glow! Skincare Kit ($16) that contains moisturizer/ H2O Hydrating Boost, the mist, exfoliating cleanser stick, and lip scrub. I think I might actually grab this set for myself to try the scrub and exfoliating stick.
Check them out and tell me how they work for you? Have you tried any of the items from the tarte Rainforest of the Sea line?
